Jay-Z Admits to Shooting...

While doing press for his new book "Decoded" Jay-Z admitted to shooting his brother when he was 12 years old. Why would a 12 year old Shawn Carter shoot his own brother?

Well it seems that his brother was a crack addict and had stolen a ring from. Here's what Jay had to say about how easy it was to access guns back then and living in a dangerous Brooklyn housing project.

"Guns were everywhere. You didn't have to go far to get one. Just everywhere," he said. "[Guns] were around every day. There were shootouts, but I shot anyone else. Most people in shootouts don't get shot." 

Jay-Z also had this to say this in an interview with UK's Guardian newspaper on the situation.

"I thought my life was over. I thought I'd go to jail forever." "It was terrible. I was a boy, a child. I was terrified."

Fortunately Jay's brother did not press charges but ended up owning up to his addiction instead.
