Earlier this morning, Randy "Macho Man" Savage, 58 suffered a heart attack behind the wheel and swiveled off the road into a tree. It's still unclear whether he died from the car accident or from suffering the heart attack.
Savage was driving a 2009 Jeep Wrangler with his wife who was in the passenger seat. She suffered minor injuries.
According to TMZ, a statement from WWE’s Vince McMahon has been released:
WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of one of the greatest Superstars of his time, Randy Poffo, aka Randy “Macho Man” Savage.
Our sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends. We wish a speedy recovery to his wife Lynn. Poffo will be greatly missed by WWE and his fans.
Poffo was under contract with WWE from 1985 to 1993 and held both the WWE and Intercontinental Championships.
